Tasting notes: "This medium to full-bodied wine reveals the tell-tale oaky veneer that is so much a part of the wines made by the Becot family. There is also plenty of rich, low acid fruit, as well as a chewy texture, good purity and ripeness, and glycerin in the muscular yet silky finish. Drink it over the next decade." - Robert M. Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate
About the winery: In 1980, Chateau Grand Pontet changed owners: it passed into the hands of a family company, with management assured by Sylvie Pourquet-Becot, since 2000. In one piece and 35 years on average, the vineyard covers 14 hectares of predominantly limestone soil, a few steps from the collegiate church of Saint-Emilion.
