Tasting notes: The characteristic of this wine is this attack, quite firm and solid, which covers the mouth, bringing out very fine tannins wrapped in pretty fruit. The whole blooms in a beautiful amplitude which makes the finish particularly persistent. Year after year, we find the traits of this character: this alliance of the power expressed at the beginning of the mouth and the elegance of the fruit and tannins.
About the winery: On a site dating back to the time of the Great Dukes of Burgundy Domaine Coste-Caumartin has a rich history. The buildings go back to 1610 and the well in the forecourt (which appears on their label) is dated 1641 - possibly the year that building was completed. The Coste-Caumartin family "moved-in" in 1793 at the height of the French Revolution. Over the centuries the domaine has expanded to 12 hectares with its major holdings in the commune of Pommard.
