Tasting notes: The very deep nose evokes peppermint, blackcurrant bud, nettle and lingonberry in a spicy aromatic spirit enhanced by grapefruit zest. On the palate, the texture is ample and luxurious, the fruity notes burst on the tongue. Pineapple, white nectarine and white grape lead us to the juicy and flavorful finish.
About the winery: Didier Dagueneau is the fourth-generation of winemaker in the small village of St. Andelain in Loire-Valley. He created a cult following for his Sauvignon Blanc in the Pouilly-Fume appellation. In 2008, his children took over the 11 hectares vineyard. His son, Benjamin, oversees the winemaking and his daughter, Charlotte, takes care of the running of the business. The Dagueneau family makes limited quantities of wine from their small plots of land, with a reputation of making some of the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world.
