Tasting notes: "Another wine in the cellar that was late to finish its malolactic fermentation, the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuées was easier to read in November than when I first tasted it in September. Revealing aromas of cherries, raspberries and plums, complemented by hints of musk, orange rind and sweet soil tones, it's medium to full-bodied, muscular and layered, with a deep and concentrated core, lively acids and powdery tannins." - William Kelly, Wine Advocate
About the winery: Domaine Felettig is one of the names that Burgundy connoisseurs would rather keep to themselves. Gilbert and his sister Christine form the second generation of winegrowers on the estate, after having succeeded from their father and founder of the Domaine, Henri Felettig. Pauline, Gilbert's daughter, has recently joined them. With a history of only 40 years, the Domaine has seen many changes from its very beginning and has expanded rapidly to reach a size of 12.5 hectares, whose 60% rented. Production is small, quality is high, as is the demand, which is why the family's wines are rarely seen outside France.
