Domaine Jacqueson Rully 1er Cru "Les Cloux" 2014

Fairly clear dress with light red highlights. The nose is of a superb depth very typical Côte de Beaune. Cherry, acacia, with a slightly woody touch. The palate shows a nice amplitude while minerality. Very nice balance in the mouth between refreshing acidity and greedy unctuousness.

THE STORY: The adventurous and sportif Paul Jacqueson has been at the head of this domaine for many years - but now his daughter Marie is heavily involved as the next generation moves in, this is no bad thing at all as she was named 'Young Winemaker of the Year' at the Hospices de Beaune in 2010 and she now represents the third generation of Jacquesons to be making wine here since her grandfather Henri started off in the 1950's with a small parcel of Aligoté. They are making wines of impeccable quality, close indeed to their much more expensive cousins on the Côte d'Or. We have a particular fondness for the whites, and especially the Pucelle, which is a model of what a great Rully can be year after year. However, the reds too are on a charge and improve almost every year.
