Domaine PETIT ROY Bourgogne Hautes-Cote-de-Beaune Rouge 2020
Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: On the nose, the wine delivers beautiful notes of undergrowth, touches of small red fruits and a beautiful floral note reminiscent of peony. The palate is very fine, and the tannins are almost nonexistent and give way to remarkable finesse and touch. We find this beautiful acid structure that holds the wine in length and in minerality.
About the winery: Born in China, Seiichi Saito grew up in Japan before going to France to learn the profession of winegrower. This Burgundy wine enthusiast then began training in oenology in Beaune, which enabled him to work for prestigious estates. After ten years in the Burgundy vineyard and a solid experience, Seiichi Saito decided to stand on his own feet and settled in Chorey lès Beaune; the Petit Roy estate was born in 2016. Today Seiichi Saito has a bit more of a hectare of vines on the Petit Roy estate, which he supplements with a little renting and purchase of perfectly selected grapes.
