Tasting Notes: This Grand Cru personifies the perfect harmony between power, richness, and elegance. Ample and silky, the wine reveals a wonderfully complex aromatic profile of great finesse. A Grand Cru for whom it is wise to age several years before enjoying.
About the winery: Domaine Simon Bize et Fils is located in Savigny-Les-Beaune in Burgundy. The history of the estate began in 1880 with Simon Bize, who began the viticulture with a few arpents of vines in the middle of the phylloxera crisis. The domain Simon Bize then passes to his son who is also called Simon, in 1918, which increases its area, then to the son of the latter (still a Simon), in 1950. Until then, the wines of the domain were not marketed on their own but entrusted to trading. From 1950, the estate began to take flight by building a portfolio of private customers, wine merchants, and restaurateurs. But it's Patrick Bize, who from 1972 carries at the top quality of his wines. One of the Domaine's particularities is to work with the whole clusters, based on the appellation and the vintage, which yields elegant wines of great finesse.
