Tasting notes: "The 2016 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Lavaux Saint-Jacques is immensely promising, unfurling in the glass with notes of rose petal, potpourri, cassis, rich soil tones and hints of black truffle. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, satiny and multidimensional but very structurally tight-knit, with a deep and reserved core and a searingly intense finish. Following this Lavaux over several hours, the quality of its tannin, the vibrancy of its acids and its similarly immense concentration are all abundantly evident, but it's equally clear that a decade of patience or more will be required of anyone wishing to see this wine at anywhere near its plenitude of expression." - William Kelley, The Wine Advocate
