    THE STORY: A leading domaine in the up and coming appellation of Marsannay (between Gevrey-Chambertin and Dijon), Laurent Fournier fashions seriously good red Burgundy from old vines (the ‘Trois Terroirs Vieilles Vignes’ comes from vines planted in 1943 and 1947 for example). The ‘Clos St Urbain’ is a blend of different parcels and is beautifully bright and fruity with good length. The ‘Clos du Roy’ comes from a vineyard once owned by the Dukes of Burgundy, and was ranked amongst the top growths of the Côte de Nuits in the 19th century.
