Wine Region: Rhone-Valley - France Grape: Syrah, Viognier
Tasting notes: "The medium-bodied 2016 Côte Rôtie Fongeant is delicate and fresh, offering up notes of cedar, raspberries and tea leaves. It's a very pretty, elegant version of Côte Rôtie, with a long, silky finish." - Wine Advocate
About the winery: It was in 1997 that Stephane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Stephane left home to work with some of the best winemakers in Burgundy and abroad. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history.
