Region: Fronton - France
Grapes: Negrette
Tastings Notes: The Arbeau family has bottled an intensely perfumed wine. It is rare to find 100% Négrette and this wine shows the wild flavors the grape can produce. Tannins, beetroot, spice and intense acidity are all in this young wine.
About the Winery: In 1878, our ancestor Prosper Arbeau decided to highlight the products of this demanding land, to make them known. It was a time of polyculture: grain, fodder, pickles, the family even produced brooms. But already, the vine imposes its rhythm on the country.
In the Frontonnais, since antiquity, wine has been produced, the one which, like a second river, waters Toulouse. On the other hand, at the dawn of the 20th century, France also needed alcohol. And Pierre Arbeau had the idea of building a vast distillery in Labastide-Saint-Pierre while developing the wine-growing activity around the flagship of the house, acquired in 1920, Château Coutinel built on a remarkable terroir of Boulbènes, typical of the appellation, gravel and sand.
