CAILLARD Shiraz 2017

Wine Region: Barossa Valley - Australia

Grape: Shiraz

Tasting notes: "Medium deep crimson. A beautiful and expressive Barossa Shiraz with fragrant dark berry dark chocolate aromas, underlying roasted chestnut notes and star anise nuances. The palate is supple and generous with intense ripe blackberry, dark cherry fruits, superb inky density and fine looseknit silky/ chalky tannins. A classic modern Barossa Shiraz with modulated power and elegance." - Andrew Caillard MW

About the winery:
Caillard Wine is a small family-run wine business from Barossa Valley in Australia. Evolving from their first vintage of Mataro in 2008, they also make a Shiraz and a Cabernet now.
It was inevitable that after 37 years under various guises in the wine industry, Andrew, with his wife Bobby, got involved in making and creating their own wine label.
The label painting of this Shiraz, inspired by the dragon and phoenix motifs, is of an Australian Bird of Paradise and a Goanna, set against rich red soils.
