About the winery:
Jean-Michel Stephan created his Domaine in 1991. In 2017, his son Romain joined forces to create Maison Stephan.
The 4.5 ha vineyard is located in Cote Rotie, the Northern part of the Rhone Valley. Only red wine can be produced in this region.
The Domaine Maison Stephan uses Serine (a rare ancestor of Syrah), Syrah and Viognier grape varieties. Some of the vines are over 120 years old.
Very respectful of nature, the vineyards have been farmed organically since 1995, and the plough is even drawn by horse. Moreover, Jean Michel and Romain do not use sulfur in the winemaking process.
