Wine Region: Burgundy - France

Grape: Pinot Noir

Tasting Notes: "The 2019 Clos de Vougeot Vieilles Vignes Grand Cru comes from vines planted in 1927, 1970 and 1990. The wine shows more red fruit than the regular cuvée, with sous-bois and scents of black truffle. Just a hint of red cherries emerge with time. The palate is medium-bodied with very pliant tannins. Plush, generous and fleshy the Vieilles Vignes has a very pure and silky finish. Just seeking a little more grip. I like this, but I would have added a little more whole bunches, as it was done in the following vintage." - Neal Martin, Vinous
