Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: "Offering up scents of sweet strawberries, plums, vine smoke, spices and orange rind, the 2021 Santenay 1er Cru Gravières Rouge is medium to full-bodied, rich and textural, with a deep and layered core of fruit, sweet, powdery tannins and lively structuring acids, concluding with a long, saline finish. This gets my nod as Jean-Marc's finest 2021 red.- William Kelly, The Wine Advocate
About the winery: Domaine Jean-Marc Vincent is a small estate in Santenay, Burgundy, managed by Jean-Marc and Anne Marie. They cultivate the vineyard close to organic farming and use caterpillar-tracked engines instead of heavy machines. They "tress" their vines and plant them in high density, resulting in wines of exceptional intensity. Harvest is done by hand and sorted in the vineyard. The estate is known for its traditional methods and respect for Jean Marc's grandfather's traditions.
