Domaine SIMON BIZE Savigny-les-Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Vergelesses" 2017 (Red)

Wine Region: Burgundy - France

Grape: Pinot Noir

Tasting notes: Pinot Noir is expressed in these lands of Chardonnay and draws all the energy, minerality and richness of this particular soil. The wines are complex, expressive, energetic on the palate and endowed with an aromatic richness that deserves a few years of ageing.

About the winery:
Domaine Simon Bize et Fils is located in Savigny-les-Beaune in Burgundy. The estate's history began in 1880 with Simon Bize, who began the viticulture with a few arpents of vines in the middle of the phylloxera crisis. The domain Simon Bize then passes to his son who is also called Simon, in 1918, which increases its area, then to the son of the latter (still a Simon) in 1950. Until then, the wines of the domain were not marketed on their own but entrusted to trading. From 1950, the estate began to take flight by building a portfolio of private customers, wine merchants and restaurateurs. But it's Patrick Bize, who from 1972 carries at the top quality of his wines. One of the domain's particularities is to work with the whole clusters, based on the appellation and the vintage, which yields elegant wines of great finesse.
