Wine region: Tuscany - Italy
Grape: Sangiovese
Tasting note: Underbrush, plum new leather and exotic spice aromas slowly appear in the glass. On the tight full-bodied palate, assertive, close-grained tannins frame dried black cherry, licorice and espresso before a firm drying finish. Give it a few more years to let the tannins unwind, then drink to capture the fruit richness.
About the winery:
Luce Brunello is a tribute to Montalcino, to the land where, in the second half of the 19th Century, Brunello was born. It was the first wine in Italy to achieve the Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita, back in 1980.
Of the 88 hectares of vineyards at Tenuta Luce, 11 are registered in the Albo del Brunello di Montalcino. This is where the grapes destined for Luce Brunello are born.
