Wine Region: Rhone-Valley - France
Grape: Syrah
Tasting notes: Very black, complex and slightly reductive on the nose. The wine shows notes of ripe, wild black fruit, which are then joined by notes of graphite, carbon and soot.
Massive on entry to the palate with tight, fine tannins and lovely mineral tautness.
About the Winery:
The Pic and Chapoutier families have known each other for many years. They come from the same region of France and share a passion for creating perfect pairings, matching the finest of dishes with the choicest of wines. An 'oenological' collaboration between Anne-Sophie Pic and Michel Chapoutier was therefore only a matter of times. It all started with one wine. From a few hectares of land, in Saint-Peray, owned by the Pic family. Michel Chapoutier gave this vineyard a new lease of life. The first joint wine was born.
