About the Winery:
It was at the beginning of the 20th century that Louis Soualle, great-grandfather of the current owners, acquired Chateau Gazin, which is managed by his descendants today.
At the heart of the famous clay-gravelly plateau of Pomerol, the vines of Chateau Gazin cover 24 ha in one piece, a very large area for the appellation.
Anecdote: Gazin is built on the remains of the hospital built by the Knights of Malta in the 12th century to accommodate pilgrims to St Jacques de Compostela.
