Wine Region: Burgundy - France
Grape: Pinot Noir
Tasting notes: Both powerful and refined, the resulting wines are the quintessence of what Pinot Noir can express. The hint of spices is also characteristic of Clos des Epeneaux.
About the winery:
The Domaine du Comte Armand exploits as a monopoly the Clos des Epeneaux and vineyard plots located in the Volnay and Auxey-Duresses areas. With a surface of 5.23 hectares, the Clos des Epeneaux is one of the largest monopolies of the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits (both 1er crus and Grands Crus included). The vines vary between 30 and 80 years, with a density of plantation of 12,000 vines/hectare.
