Domaine DIDIER DAGUENEAU "Les Jardins de Babylone" Demi-Sec 2021

Wine Region: South-West - France

Grape: Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng, Courbu, Camaralet, Lauzet

Tasting notes: The nose is powerful, exotic, honeyed, lemony and full-bodied with an enormous minty freshness. Both completely dry and extremely dense, it offers a tapered palate reminiscent of the texture and thickness of a Grand Cru from the Cote de Beaune, but with a completely unique aromatic and taste profile. The iodized frame lengthens the finish and highlights the spicy notes.

About the winery:Les Jardins de Babylone is the personal project of the late Didier Dagueneau, one of the Loire Valley’s most iconic and visionary winemakers. Located in the steep, terraced vineyards of Jurançon in southwest France, the estate is dedicated to producing exceptional wines that express the unique character of its mountain terroir.

Founded in 2002, the vineyard was discovered by Didier Dagueneau in his quest to create exceptional sweet wines beyond the Loire. Today, his son Louis-Benjamin continues the project alongside Guy Pautrat, crafting a range of dry, off-dry and sweet expressions from local grape varieties, notably Petit Manseng. Produced in tiny quantities, the wines combine remarkable aromatic intensity, vibrant acidity and a distinctive mineral character, reflecting the family's uncompromising pursuit of precision, balance and longevity.
