Wine Region: Rhone-Valley - France
Grape: Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault
Tasting notes: "(...) It's medium to full-bodied, filled with notes of cola, blueberries and spice, and features some firm, muscular tannins that suggest short-term cellaring and moderate age-worthiness." - Wine Advocate
About the winery:
Serge Ferigoule bought Le Sang des Cailloux in 1990, after working for ten years with the former owner. From there, he stops chemical weeding and then synthetic products. The 17 hectares, in Vacqueyras Appellations, are located on a plateau facing the Dentelles de Montmirail. His son, Frederi, joined him in 2003. They decided to have the estate certified organic and then biodynamic. With its clay-limestone terroir, reddish-brown, and its rolled pebbles, Le Sang des Cailloux mainly produces red.
