Wine Region: Rhone-Valley - France
Grape: Syrah
Tasting notes: "This is the third time I've tasted Stephane Ogier's 2017 Cote Rotie Lancement, and it has been consistently outstanding. Vaguely floral notes add intrigue to the deep raspberry and cassis fruit, balanced by more savory notes of coffee beans and charred beef. It's medium to full-bodied, sturdy and muscular, with plentiful (but ripe) tannins that give the lengthy finish a rich, velvety texture.." - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Advocate
About the winery:
It was in 1997 that Stephane Ogier joined the family estate, rooted for seven generations on the hillsides of Ampuis. After studying viticulture and oenology in Beaune, Stephane left home to work with some of the best winemakers in Burgundy and abroad. By taking over from his father Michel, he chooses to do specific work on his different terroirs to reveal the uniqueness of these places full of history.
